This City Limits is a melodic rock band from Leeds, UK. Formed in 2013, the band consists of brothers Will and George Turner, bassist Robert Burns and drummer Josh Peters. Drawing influence from modern punk and rock bands such as Against Me!, Brand New, Rise Against and Mallory Knox, the band is committed to fusing high energy with careful and considered melodic expression.
The band released its first single 'Amputate' in early 2014, and since then has gone from strength to strength. Garnering praise from Tom Robinson at BBC 6 Music among others, This City Limits spent the remainder of the year playing anywhere with a PA system. During this time, the band built a reputation for furious and passionate live performances. Christian Carlisle of BBC Radio Sheffield has described This City Limits as "undoubtedly one of the finest live bands I've seen in a long time".
In January 2015, the band checked into Steel City Studios, Sheffield to begin working on a new EP, recording five new tracks in seven days. The first single, 'Too Scared to Swim', was released on 27th July, and received attention from national press and radio. In support of the release, This City Limits toured intensely over the summer of 2015, playing festivals including Blissfields, Clarence Park and Tramlines. The band is heading back out on a UK tour this autumn, details of which will be available soon.
This City Limits will be releasing a follow-up single entitled 'Runaway' in the autumn, before the release of the full EP, ‘Here’s to Hoping’ in November.
